Taking time for yourself is very important and can make the wedding planning journey more manageable. It is easy to forget about self-care when you’re planning your dream day. However, taking a break can help you relax and, in turn, can reorganize your to-dos! These ten tips will easily de-stress even the worst bridal meltdowns. 1. GNO Sometimes you just need a girls’ night out. Grab some of your bridesmaids and hit the town! Grabbing drinks or going out dancing is an awesome way to let loose. 2. Date Night Remember why you’re doing this. Go to dinner or see a movie with your future hubby! Date nights are great ways to create new memories and give you both a chance to get away from all the wedding fuss! 3. Stay-cation Explore your city! Stay-cations are great because you don’t have to spend a ton of money and you can find something new right where you live. Try a fun museum, a new restaurant or a hometown festival to bring new light to your familiar city! 4. Nap Don’t underestimate the power of a good nap. There is no use in trying to push through if you are absolutely exhausted. Sometimes taking a break will have you feeling like a whole new person in no time! 5. DIY Spa Day Get your “me” time on! Paint your nails or try that new face mask you discovered on YouTube. Little things like this can have you feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. 6. Clean Up Clean your room or your house. Clean space = clean mind. Once you have a clean space, you’ll be able to refocus on whatever is on your wedding planning list! 7. Workout A quick workout can be quite productive. Go on a hike, try yoga, or do a Zumba class! Workouts will get you up and moving in the right direction. 8. Netflix Get in your pjs and binge watch your favorite show. Every now and then, you just need to not do anything and enjoy just that. Grab some popcorn and don’t touch that remote! 9. Take a Bath Put in the bubbles, grab a glass of wine, and get the music rolling! Taking a twenty-minute bath is one of the best ways to soothe your wedding planning stress. A bubble bath is one small way to relax on a daily basis. 10. Go Shopping Retail therapy is the best therapy! Buy a new pair of shoes, a fun outfit, or a new MAC lipstick. They will definitely come in handy for the many events you have coming up! I have a couple of favorites on this tip list! First, I clean like no other. Cleaning gives me the satisfaction of accomplishing something on my to do list and also makes me feel like I have my life in order. Second, I paint my nails ALL the time because I want them to look nice and more importantly it makes me feel good about myself. Third, I am totally a shopaholic.. pretty sure David thinks I have a problem. I like treating myself every once in awhile because it makes me that “new year, new me” feeling. Please let me know your favorite ways to relax!
