Let’s be real, the internet is everything nowadays. The internet was created to connect people and has done so through computers, cell phones, and even smart watches. So why don’t we use it to help connect us to our guests? There are five essential W’s when it comes to wedding websites: Who is going to use it? Where could I make my website? When am I going to use it? What is going to go on it? Why should you make one? which can help while creating your website. Wedding websites are quickly becoming another essential to-do on the wedding planning list.
Who is going to use it? Well, everyone who is taking part in your big day! It is a great way to involve guests in the months leading up to your wedding. Guests can use it to purchase wedding gifts or even RSVP to the big day itself! Wedding websites are essentially making it easier on your guests which in return takes loads of stress off of you and the groom! When am I going to use it? If we are being honest, we don’t have time to personally discuss wedding plans or changes with every single person. Whether it is a time change or specialty parking decorations, wedding websites allow for mass updates that can reach every single guest. Wedding websites are the perfect for guests to keep up with your busy timeline! Where could I make my website? There are awesome websites that created a variety of templates you can use. Some of the top wedding website generators are Minted, The Knot, Wedding Wire, and Zola which are completely FREE! All of them are highly customizable when it comes to domain names, template designs, and tab organization. Additionally, you can attach your website to EVERY invitation or memo sent out to ensure every guest gets it! What goes on it? It is completely up to you. On my wedding website I have several different tabs! I have a “Wedding Party” tab which I used to show photos and relationships of all of the bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls, and ring bearer. Next, I have an “RSVP” tab which allows my guests to RSVP for every event they are invited to in order to eliminate mail delays. In my “Photos” tab, I posted pictures of our mini engagement photo shoot and will put pictures from the various wedding events that can be all in one place for my guests to view. Next, I have an “Events” tab which includes event locations, times, and dress attire which makes it easier for my guests to manage the wedding day if they forget those pesky direction cards we send with invitations! My next two tabs, “Travel” and “Things to Do,” are mainly for my out of town guests. In “Travel” they can find all the information on airfare and hotel blocks that I have organized for them! Additionally, my “Things to Do” tab offers some of New Orleans’ best sightseeing activities such as the World War II Museum, French Quarter Ghost Tours, and Mardi Gras parades. Lastly, I included a “Gift Registry” tab which includes all my many registries such as William and Sonoma and Bed, Bath, and Beyond in one spot where my guests can browse with ease! Why should you make one? Well I decided to make a website for several reasons. First, I wanted an easy way to connect to my guests, especially those coming from town. With a wedding website, I was able to give all my out of towners tips on things to do and where to stay without having to send an email, text, or specialized invitation. Second, I wanted to eliminate the fuss of wedding details, such as time or addresses, when a guest forgets where to go. Additionally, all my guests will be able to save photos from the wedding as soon as they are uploaded to the website. Third, I was able to organize RSVPs and registries in one place which made it easier (and faster) for my guests to respond and order. Lastly, I was able to show off my bridal party and the story of how David and I met! While wedding websites do take a little bit of time to set up, they are definitely worth the time!

She stressed that her main goal was to give her bride one thing she didn't have to worry about.
