As many of you know, Blue Bridal Boutique was my third appointment during my weekend in Austin, Texas. The boutique is highly rated among Austin locals so I had to make a stop on in! We arrived to my appointment early but were shown to our dressing room anyway despite it not being quite our time.
We were escorted to our private dressing room where family members could sit on little benches while the bride-to-be would try on dresses behind a “change wall” all within one dressing room. This intimate setting made it a more personal time with my mom and sisters! We met with the dress stylist who asked me what I was looking for and quickly went to search through the many racks of dresses. They had a large selection to choose from ranging in all sorts of sizes. I tried on probably eight to ten dresses that fit almost perfectly. However, we did not get to pick ourselves which takes half the fun out of it! Although they fit great, I was not too impressed because I had already found “THE dress” at another boutique. They had fabulous dresses ranging from simple to bohemian to lace. This is a great place to start if you haven't quite discovered your style yet! P.S. None of the pictures are THE DRESS but a few of my favorites from the appointment!

Like many of you, I have been dreaming about the perfect wedding dress since I was little. I knew exactly what I wanted: ball gown, off the shoulder cap sleeves, and a train as long as I could get it! This is the one dress you want EVERYONE to notice and never forget. It’s your time to shine! I had a whole pinterest board dedicated to styles I liked. It is a good idea to start figuring out what you like before you go into a dress appointment because you won’t have to waste your time trying on things you know you will hate. Well my endless hours on pinterest, led me to my dream dress and I eventually discovered only four boutiques in the United States carried a sample size to try on. The closest one happened to be in Austin, Texas so we backed our bags for a quick girls trip! While we were planning our trip I made appointments at three of Austin’s best bridal boutiques. Pro tip: it is always better to make more appointments (and go to all of them) because you might find something even better at the next stop! Our appointments were set for Signature Bridal, Melange Boutique, and Blue Bridal Boutique being roughly an hour each. Don’t worry we had other fun activates around the appointments too! Our first stop was at Signature Bridal where I tried on about twenty dresses and found two I really liked! After our lunch break we stopped by Melange Boutique who carried the dress I had originally came for. I tried on three or four dresses saving the best for last. I tried it on and was in love. My mom and sisters “oohed and aahed” as we sipped on champagne. However, I did have to make one more stop just to be absolutely sure. My last stop was at Blue Bridal Boutique where I tried on about eight to ten dresses. Although they were beautiful, I just was not sold. After trying on “THE dress” at the previous boutique we all knew I needed to go back. After finishing with the last appointment we rushed back to Melange Bridal. I tried on the dress again, this time with a royal length veil, and that was it. My mom was in tears and my sisters were bombarding me with pictures. We even facetimed my future mother-in-law, grandmother, and aunt to show off the dress! I found THE wedding dress and I can’t wait for David to see it in a couple months. xoxo, |
