Bridal Shows are one of the best parts about wedding planning! Bridal show refers to a gathering of different vendors that brides can meet with in order to plan their wedding day. Each vendor will set up a booth where they will "sell" you their services and usually offer free samples. Many times they will have cards in order to contact them after the show along with pamphlets with their services and their prices. Lastly, you can expect to enter in their particular giveaway, which can be anything from $100 dollars off bridesmaid dresses to a free session of photography for engagement pictures!
Bridal Shows will have vendors for every part of your wedding experience. They will most likely have venues for your reception, ceremony, or engagement party. Additionally, they will provide vendors that specialize in catering, wedding cakes, and other various sweets for the big day. There will be several boutiques showing off this season's wedding dresses, bridesmaid gowns, and groomsmen tuxes. You can visit with make up artists, hair stylists, and an array of skin care vendors that will make you glow inside and out! Brides can, also, meet with photographers and videographers that will capture the big day from start to finish. Brides can attend a bridal show with a variety of people - their mother, mother-in-law, sisters, and/or aunts. On the other hand, they may stick with their maid of honor or the bridesmaids. It’s a good idea to bring the groom so they feel included in the wedding planning process! Brides often visit several different bridal shows, so you could invite everyone you want to take part in the fun occasion. These bridal shows can be overwhelming if you don't know how to prepare. First, I would highly suggest wearing something comfortable because you will be walking around for a couple of hours at least. Second, most shows give you a little bag when you arrive to hold papers, cards, and goody bags from different vendors. However, I would bring a little bag or tote just in case they do not provide you with any. Lastly, I would suggest bringing stickers or tags! My older cousin Katie gave me this idea and it was incredibly helpful. At every booth they will ask you to fill out a card in order for them to get in touch with you after the event. I brought stickers, just a couple of dollars from office depot, that had my name, address, number, and wedding date on it. The stickers helped me move through the booths faster and kept me from having to write my information over and over again. My first bridal show was the Mardi Gras Bridal Bash in New Orleans. Since it was my first one, my mom took me of course. When we entered I was given a free manicure coupon and a chance to win an all inclusive honeymoon trip! The Bridal Show also offered a scavenger hunt where brides could gather different charms from the different booths which could be used for cake pulls. Although I didn't win the honeymoon, I actually won a $500 gift certificate for a wedding planner session. Moreover, I got to taste delicious food and a shameful amount of wedding cake!

Sugar and Spice Twice is the best mini sweet vendor in New Orleans! Lauren and Lindsey Schayot are twin sisters that opened up shop in November of 2017. In just a short time they have perfected the cake pop and made it fashionable for any occasion!
They hand make cake pops with over twenty flavors. Some of their customer favorites include: red velvet, chocolate, vanilla, birthday cake, cookies and cream, yellow butter cake, salted caramel along with many more. Nevertheless, their wedding cake flavor is the top pick so far! Along with their numerous flavor choices, they have incredible designs. They make sure each delivery is customizable to fit your every want and are always open to trying out new designs. Sugar and Spice Twice also has prices that are hard to beat. Each cake pop is only two dollars and comes individually wrapped and tied! They have a minimum of twelve pops a flavor but who would want to stop at just twelve? They are currently located in New Orleans and personally deliver to the Kenner, Metairie and New Orleans area. However, I hope they can expand soon! I reached out to Sugar and Spice Twice about doing cake pops for my Bridesmaids’ Brunch this coming October. I was set on having cake pops with rings on them yet I could not find any on their page. Within days, they had made a trial one for me to see and I fell in love! They are such a delicious addition to my bridesmaid proposal boxes. Working with Lauren and Lindsey has been such an enjoyable experience and I cannot thank them enough for all their hard work. I will definitely be ordering more for my engagement party, bridal shower, and other wedding events! |
