Within 24 hours of returning from my honeymoon, I was packed and ready to board another flight. I was headed to Orlando, Florida, for some much-needed sister time! My sister, Elizabeth, recently moved there and this was the first time we had been able to visit since. Our weekend started off hot with an all-day trip to Universal on Thursday. If you are on the fence between Disney and Universal, it really depends on what you want out of the day. If you are looking for characters, cute photos, and magic, head on over to Disney. If you’re looking for tons of rollercoasters and adventure, Universal is the place for you! Take the whole day and try to get your hands on a Florida resident discount if you can! After sleeping in later than we should have, we threw on our swimsuits, grabbed a quick coffee from Starbucks, and were on our way to Crystal River. Crystal River is known for manatee sightings, and there are several boat tours in the area that offer close-up action. We took a tour with “Crystal River Manatees” and were not disappointed! We saw several manatees and received tons of photos. Additionally, our tour guide swam us over to a secret small spot with natural springs! After our manatee excursion, we got ready for a night out in Orlando! We started with dinner at Opa, known for nights that typically end with guests dancing on the tables! It is definitely an environment that you don’t want to miss out on. Dinner was followed by drinks and bar hopping in downtown Orlando! Check out the Robinsons and the Lamp bar for some fantastic photo spots. Saturday, we spent the majority of the day at Formosa Gardens for wine tasting! If you get a chance to go, try the Blueberry red wine and thank me later! We then met Bryan’s family for dinner at Blu in Winter Park. Before our flight on Sunday, we squeezed in a quick morning in Winter Park. We had brunch at a local restaurant called Boca. If you can't decide what you want off the menu, the BBQ Pork Benedict is phenomenal. We finished off the afternoon with a coffee from Barnie’s and window shopping down Park Ave! xoxo,
mrs. johnson
